Our Company History

Bearicuda, Inc was founded by Kevin Lacilla as part of a 20 plus year old company, Dawg Inc, "Doing Away With Grime" helped companies solve spill control challenges within the industrial workplace and outdoor environment. Dawg Inc was inspired by Kevin Lacilla's loving Labrador, Chaz. "He would come to work every day, visiting both customers and employees". The original company began its first operations in 1986 and spun off its Bear Proof Container line in 2007.

The first Bearicuda Product was inspired by a Dawg customer request, asking if he could use one of our spill containment drums as a trash receptacle to keep bears and other animals out of his trash, states Kevin Lacilla. I thought, "why not" and after a considerable amount of engineering our first Bear Resistant Trash Receptacles and Enclosures were tested and certified at the LWWF, Living with Wildlife Foundation and the IGBC, Interagency Grizzly Bear Committee, the only two independent agencies of their kind to independently test and certify cans and enclosures for this purpose. IGBC-certified containers are one of the methods available to meet food storage regulations on National Forests in grizzly bear habitat. Bearicuda Products have passed the IGBC testing protocol and have been approved by the IGBC as bear-resistant.

Kevin Lacilla states, "We established a more diverse product line by listening to the needs of the marketplace". The company began to expand its offering of a full line of Bear Proof Garbage Cans and High Quality Trash Can Enclosures in the years to come. The Bearicuda name quickly became recognized in the industry for its high quality products, affordable prices and exceptional service when it comes to bear proofing trash cans and offering high quality wooden storage enclosures.

"At Bearicuda Bins, we are dedicated to helping our customers solve bear and other animal related problems without physically harming these animals by offering solutions that deter these animals from coming back to residential and commercial food sources", states Kevin Lacilla.

Sincerely.
Kevin Lacilla
